November 2023 | In a new Edutopia article, McREL Senior Consultant Cheryl Abla shares simple strategies to get students talking about their learning. While it’s not uncommon for teachers to shy away from student-led discussions in middle and high school classes, these opportunities are important. They can help students process, clarify, connect, and solidify they’re learning, which leads to more engaged students, she writes. Cheryl recommends three strategies to incorporate into the classroom. Each one requires little to no prep time and lasts four to seven minutes.
