April 13, 2021 | Austin, TX and Denver, CO — Texas educators will gain access to online professional development courses with content customized to ensure alignment with both the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS), thanks to a partnership of McREL International and Education Service Center Region 13.

Three courses are available now on the Region 13 E-Campus platform, where educators from anywhere in Texas can obtain 15 continuing education credit hours for each course they complete:

The three courses are built on McREL’s research and evidence base on effective teaching and learning. They each use an engaging mix of videos, presentations, downloadable readings and tools, and reflection prompts.

“Texas educators are fortunate to have access to a world-class resource like ESC Region 13. We’re excited about this opportunity to share our evidence-based professional development with more teachers and school leaders while making it easy for them to obtain continuing education credits,” said Bryan Goodwin, president and CEO of McREL International.

Added Dr. Rich Elsasser, executive director of ESC Region 13: “This collaboration brings top-quality learning within reach by making it available on a platform that’s already familiar in our state.”
