McREL’s Bryan Goodwin shares 3 questions to guide conversations about curriculum Effectiveness

February 2023 | When reviewing school curriculum and its impact on student achievement, asking the right questions matters, writes McREL’s CEO Bryan Goodwin in his February “Research Matters” column in ASCD’s Educational Leadership magazine. The column, “What’s on the Curriculum Menu?”, shares three questions that can guide the conversation to ensure what’s being taught in the classroom is truly effective. In addition to reviewing if the standards and guides are being implemented within the classroom, there needs to be conversations about if the curriculum is working for the students and if the appropriate implementation supports are available to teachers.
