The audit process includes the following elements.
Teacher Technology Survey All staff with direct teaching responsibilities will take the McREL Teacher Technology Survey to measure their comfort with and use of technology. A detailed report is generated and the findings shared with the school or district leadership team during the first on-site visit. Teacher and Administrator Interviews Building principals and a sample of teachers from each building in the district are interviewed to gather data about the use of technology, related professional development, and barriers that might prevent teachers from moving forward with technology integration. Focus Groups A series of focus groups comprised of teachers, admininstrators, students, and parents is conducted throughout the district. Walkthroughs McREL uses its Power Walkthrough software to conduct walkthroughs in each classroom, which provides data on the strategies and technologies teachers are using, the context of instruction, and the learning that is occurring. Audit Report McREL uses information from the teacher survey, interviews, focus groups, and walkthroughs to prepare a report to the school or district. This audit report provides a comprehensive view of the school or district's technology availability and use, recommendations for improvement, and action steps for technology integration. |
