Technology

The current shift to computer-based, multimedia technology is giving educators a new educational tool that will change teaching, learning, and curricula. Given that schools are investing millions of dollars into technology, one of the burning questions regarding the use of technology in education is "Does technology (computers, multimedia, the Internet, etc.) really improve learning?"

One thing we know from this research is that the hardware, the software, the connection to the Internet, and the technology plan are worthless if teachers don't learn not only how to use the technology, but also how to effectively integrate it into the curriculum. Thus, it's essential that leaders provide their staff with proper training to maximize the large investment they've made in educational technology. In addition, one of the most difficult aspects of implementing technology in schools is finding and securing the funds for new technologies and associated ongoing expenses.

Here are some resources to help school leaders address these challenges.
