Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Title I funds to implement Success in Sight? ®

Yes. Because of its emphasis on data use, implementing comprehensive instructional reform strategies, school-wide, and rigorous research base, Success in Sight can be—and has been—supported through Title I funds.

Can I use Success in Sight as a “school transformation” process, as described in the new federal “school improvement grants”?

Yes. McREL can assist districts and schools in implementing the many activities required for school transformation and use Success in Sight as a school-level approach for carrying out such required activities as developing teacher and leader effectiveness and implementing comprehensive instructional reform strategies.

How much does Success in Sight cost?

When implemented through a multi-school consortium (e.g., more than three schools in a district), Success in Sight can cost less than $75,000 per school per year.

How long does it take to implement?

Success in Sight is designed as a 2–3 year capacity-building process—that is, our goal is to “work ourselves out of a job” so that by the end of the transformation process, schools are capable of sustaining their high-performing school cultures and commitment to continuous improvement.

My district has many talented school improvement coaches. Can McREL use a training-of-trainer model to help them implement Success in Sight?

Yes. In fact, our preferred method of delivery is to help qualified local staff become mentors for the process, providing schools with real-time coaching and guidance between regular Success in Sight sessions with McREL staff.
