Creating High-Performance School Cultures: 2-Day Workshop

Goals/Objectives

School improvement efforts typically center around technical details, such as adopting better instructional strategies or a new curriculum. Such changes are often necessary, but in and of themselves, they are insufficient to improve student achievement.

To ensure that school reforms actually make a difference, schools must have a professional culture committed to excellence and continuous improvement.

Description  This 2-day workshop draws from McREL's comprehensive approach to school improvement, Success in Sight. In this workshop, school leadership teams will learn:
  • What research says about the connection between school culture and student performance
  • How you can strengthen the professional culture of your school
  • Why productive mindsets are such a powerful predictor of student performance
Target Audience  This workshop is designed for principals, school leadership teams, data teams, district-level teams.

Activities are designed for teams of three or more people.
