Using teacher responses from a national data set, this study examined differences between a group of 248 high-performing, high-needs high schools and a group of 40 low-performing, high-needs high schools.

Key Ideas:

Researchers found meaningful and statistically significant differences, with teachers in the high-performing schools reporting more favorably. “Safe climate” and “parent involvement” had the largest effect size differences.
