Audience(s): Policymakers

Product Description:

This report examines why only one in 10 students (11%) eligible to receive federally mandated supplemental educational services, such as tutoring and afterschool help, in the Central Region (Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming) are actually receiving them.

Key Ideas:

Researchers found:

  • District’s roles were unclear and federal funds had not been reimbursed.
  • Four of the seven states reported they had difficulty recruiting provider applicants.
