Product Description:
This research brief summarizes findings from a REL Central study, High School Standards and Expectations for College and the High-Skills Workplace. This study compared standards from the seven states in the Central Region (Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming) and exemplar states outside of the region against 21st century standards for employees and students.
Key Ideas:
State standards for high schools in a majority of the Central Region states cover some but not all of the language arts and mathematics topics identified by two national studies as important for success in college and the high-skills workplace.
