Research scientist Bruce Randel joins McREL

November 7, 2005

Aurora, Colo.Bruce Randel, former senior research scientist at CTB/McGraw-Hill, has joined the staff of Mid-continent Research for Education and Learning (McREL), an internationally recognized, private, non-profit education research and development organization located in Aurora, Colo.

At McREL, Randel will serve as principal researcher, working primarily with client states on research issues around meeting the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act.

Randel brings to this position a strong background in research and evaluation as well as expertise in educational measurement and large-scale assessment. At CTB/McGraw-Hill, he managed research efforts for state assessment contracts, early childhood diagnostic assessments, and standardized tests of achievement and aptitude within the K-12 environment.

McREL, which is funded through a combination of competitive federal grants, local and state contracts, and product sales, maintains an office of more than 100 employees and had revenues in excess of $13.1 million in 2004.
