Staff Members


Meet our staff members:

  • Nolan Malone, director and McREL vice president of Pacific operations, oversees the Pacific Center’s efforts to build upon and create collaborative relationships with educational agencies and leaders in providing staff development, school improvement services, and education research and evaluation to schools, districts, and educational entities across the region.
  • Aime Black, senior consultant, contributes to the development and delivery of technical assistance services and research projects under the Regional Education Laboratory contract for the Pacific Region.
  • Moriell Greenleaf, administrative specialist, performs a variety of administrative tasks, including creating documents and spreadsheets, coordinating logistics for meetings and workshops, and assisting in managing the office.
  • Jean Isip, senior consultant, provides project management for the Regional Education Laboratory program for the Pacific Region, working with team members to meet the needs of educators, students, and communities, while monitoring contract compliance, project goals, and timelines.
  • Wendy Kekahio, senior evaluator, conducts research and evaluation studies to inform and improve educational practices and policies for culturally diverse learners. She also assists educators with data analysis, reporting, and program monitoring.
  • Richard Li, senior researcher, develops research designs, collects data, analyzes data, and writes research reports, along with conducting formative and summative evaluations of programming related to Pacific education.
  • Sena Pierce, research associate, conducts research and provides programmatic support to McREL’s work in the Pacific Region.
  • Rich Seder, associate director of the Pacific Center for Changing the Odds, helps manage the REL Pacific contract. 
  • Beth Siegfried, senior consultant communications, manages internal and external communications for the Pacific Center.
  • Lisa Talaro, executive assistant, performs a variety of administrative duties, including composing, reviewing and distributing documents and correspondence, coordinating staff calendars, arranging meetings, and making travel arrangements.
  • Dr. John Kofel, advisor, is founder and former CEO of Pacific Resources for Education and Learning (PREL). He brings decades of experience in serving educators in the Pacific Region and is working with McREL to refine its Pacific Region strategies.
