Center for Educator Effectiveness

McREL operates three centers that focus our consulting and research and evaluation work into three areas that matter most for improving the quality of education: educator effectiveness, systems transformation, and learning innovation.

The Center for Educator Effectiveness helps educators improve the quality of instructional practice and reduce variability in the education that learners receive. The center researches, designs, develops, disseminates, and evaluates instruction and leadership strategies needed to build the capacity of K‒12 educators and those who support them.

As an international leader in applied research for instructional and leadership strategies, McREL’s programs, tools, products, and services—including Classroom Instruction That Works, Balanced Leadership®, Power Walkthrough®, and our principal and teacher evaluation systems—have assisted tens of thousands of educators in more effectively meeting the needs of the students they serve.
