Principal Consultant
As a principal consultant at McREL, Bj works with a variety of state and local agencies across the nation. She facilitates learning sessions with teachers, principals, district administrators and leadership teams in the areas of Balanced Leadership, research-based instructional strategies, vocabulary instruction, curriculum mapping, and assessment design. Bj develops and delivers short and long-term contract work related to increasing student achievement through effective professional development, leadership training, and the utilization of research-based strategies that support the use of standards and data-driven decision making.
Prior to joining McREL, Bj served as a middle and high school science teacher, a university instructor, and a central office administrator working with grants, curriculum and assessment development, and the design and delivery of professional development. She holds a B.S. in biology with a minor in chemistry, an M.S. in science education, and an Ed.D. in educational leadership and policy study from the University of Northern Colorado.
