As a senior researcher at McREL, Tedra designs research studies; programs SAS for data management; analyzes univariate, multivariate, multi-level, and longitudinal growth modeling statistics; conducts research syntheses/meta-analyses; and disseminates research findings. She applies her expertise in research methodology and basic cognitive processes to projects aimed at improving the educational outcomes of children through cognitive and social interventions for "at-risk" children, classroom instructional practices, and assessment. Prior to joining McREL, Tedra was a graduate research assistant at the University of Denver, where she facilitated both NIH- and NSF-sponsored projects examining the basic processes of reading and memory and served as an adjunct professor of psychology. She has more than 10 years of education and research-oriented training and has authored several journal articles, book chapters, and conference presentations in the areas of cognition, emotion, and reading/language development. Tedra holds a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology from the University of Denver.
