Kansas approves McREL's evaluation system
Denver—McREL’s Teacher Evaluation System and Principal Evaluation System have been approved for statewide use by the Kansas State Department of Education.
A state-commissioned review team determined that the McREL evaluation systems meet the Kansas Educator Evaluation Project (KEEP) guidelines and align with the Blueprint for Reform as released by the U.S. Department of Education. More information can be found on the Kansas State Department of Education website.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to work with schools and districts in Kansas as they seek to evaluate their teachers and principals in a consistent, fair manner that truly strengthens skills and performance,” said Tony Davis, a senior director in McREL’s Center for Educator Effectiveness.
McREL's principal and teacher evaluation systems are based on four decades of research on effective instruction and leadership practices that have been found to positively impact student outcomes. The evaluation systems are used by more than 9,000 schools and districts in 16 states and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
