McREL’s Pacific Center for Changing the Odds expands office
Honolulu
—To better serve students and educators in the Pacific Region, McREL’s Pacific Center for Changing the Odds has expanded by hiring new staff and, as a result, has relocated to a larger office in Honolulu.
The Pacific Center remains in Pauahi Tower but has moved to larger suite on the 22nd floor. The new address is 1003 Bishop Street, Suite 2200, Honolulu, Hawai’i, 96813. The main phone number (808.664.8175) and toll-free phone number (877.768.9222) remain the same. A reception and blessing for the new office was held on September 18, with Pacific Center and McREL senior staff and board members in attendance.
Since opening its doors in July 2010, McREL’s Pacific Center for Changing the Odds has been building relationships with educators in the region and, in January 2012, became the administrator of the REL Pacific, one of 10 Regional Education Laboratories established and funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences.
The REL Pacific serves educators in Hawai‘i, American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau, through research and technical assistance in areas including teacher effectiveness, family and community engagement, and college and career readiness.
