Second edition of Classroom Instruction That Works published
Denver —Since 2001, teachers have relied on Classroom Instruction That Works for the nine instructional strategies research shows most likely to lead to improved student learning. Now, drawing on years of experience with the strategies and the most rigorous research from the last decade, McREL has created an updated and expanded second edition, published by ASCD.
While the original strategies are still supported by the latest research, the revised edition includes a new framework to help teachers become more intentional about using the strategies and choosing the right strategies for certain situations. Also, expanded examples illustrate how students might respond to the strategies, and tips and checklists help teachers better design and deliver lessons.
Written by McREL consultants Ceri B. Dean, Elizabeth Ross Hubbell, Howard Pitler, and Bj Stone,
Classroom Instruction that Works, Second Edition is available from
ASCD.
