Join us for the 5th Annual PEAK Afterschool Workshop and learn practical strategies for PEAK performance in afterschool programs. The topic of this years two day hands-on workshop will help afterschool practitioners explore three of the instructional strategies from McREL’s Classroom Instruction that Works publications and how those strategies can be applied in an afterschool setting.
Participants will take a detailed look at the research based strategies of Nonlinguistic Representation; Cooperative Learning; and Reinforcing Effort and Providing recognition. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the research behind each of these strategies, see how the strategies can be applied in an afterschool setting, practice using the strategies, and walk away with a collection of lessons incorporating the strategies presented.
