Ceri Dean Appointed McREL Vice President for Field Services

Dr. Ceri Dean has been appointed Vice President for Field Services at Mid-continent Research for Education and Learning (McREL), a Denver-based non-profit organization devoted to helping educators use research to improve student achievement.
A former mathematics teacher, Dr. Dean earned her Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Connecticut. She has worked at McREL for nearly 14 years, providing training and consultation to educators from around the nation and writing numerous publications, including What Works in Classroom Instruction and Keeping the Focus on Learning. Most recently, she led a five-year effort to develop and test McREL's innovative approach to school improvement, called Success in Sight.
As Vice President for Field Services, she will lead a team of 30-plus education experts who provide training and consulting to educators worldwide in a wide array of areas, including teaching and learning, leadership, and school and systems change. She will also continue to serve as the Director for the North Central Comprehensive Center, which provides school improvement services to the states of Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
